Born on 15 January 1932 at Monteprandone (Ascoli
Piceno - Italy). Belongs to the Franciscan Province of S. Giacomo nelle Marche.
Qualifications: Licentiate in Holy Scripture (Pontificia Commissione
Biblica: 1961), laureate in theology with biblical specialisation (SBF: 1962);
M. A. in archeology (Oriental Institute of Chicago: 1967).
Professor (Ordinary) (1979) at the SBF (1968-): biblical
archeology and topography of Jerusalem.
Served as: director of the SBF (1978-1990); co-directore of the
excavations at Caphernaum (1968-1991) and of the fortress of Machereus in
Jordan (1978-81).
